2012 Vegetable Seed Lists

2012 SEED LISTS

I’ve researched and updated the seed list for this year.  I created a legend with abbreviations for each seed/nursery and then put them at the end of each seed listed.  I also show which tomatoes Amy Goldman’s ‘The Heirloom Tomato’ book recommends which I use as my ‘tomato bible’! I’ve put this in my page section called ‘Seed Lists’  at the top of the blog for later reference.

Here is the legend:

    Wow. That’s a nice list.

I grew the biggest C. Moschata squash I know of last year called “Long of Naples”. My biggest was only 43 pounds though. As for the tomatoes, I had a lot of luck with Costoluto Genovese but found Fireworks to be lacking in many ways – especially disease resistance.

I hope you have more success with that variety than I did.
    Happy Gardening!

Thank you, Jannine…You are so generous with your information and your advice based on your personal gardening experiences. You take a lot of the unknown out of: which seeds to buy, how to do something in the garden and when to do it and why…I still prefer to buy my tomatoes from YOU, ’cause then I have a really good chance of eating tomatoes for dinner that night.
    Thank you, darlin’!
