How can a region that gets so pleasantly warm in summer get snow in winter? That is just wrong.
I actually do not know your region. The closest I ever got was Route 66; and now that I think of it, . . . it might have snowed before we got there.

    • Tony-
We are at 7000′ altitude which is higher than either Albuquerque or Denver to give you a reference. So far we’ve had one of the coldest winter in 8 years. And tonight we are suppose to get another 6-12 inches of snow. The current El Nino weather pattern is blessing us with much needed moisture. How goes it where you live in California?

Not much yet. We got two generous storms, but nothing else. It is still quite within the normal range. We sometimes get more early. We sometimes get none until about now. It may seem boring, but I like it, and as a native of the chaparral climate of the Santa Clara Valley (just on the other side of the Santa Cruz Mountains), I do not mind what others might consider a lack of rain.
